CPC50210

The Diploma of Building and Construction is designed to meet the needs of builders, including selecting contractors, overseeing the work and its quality, and liaising with the client.

  • Building work on a class 1 or class 10 building
  • Building work to a maximum of 3 storeys, but not including Type A construction on classes 4 to 9 buildings

The Diploma of Building and Construction is the pathway for employment as a site manager or project manager for low and medium rise projects.
You’ll learn essential building skills and knowledge in planning, understanding specifications, legalities, project management, OHS risk management, estimating costs, structural principles, managing risk and more.

Equivalency Assessment

If you have moved from overseas you may already have a qualification, but it’s not the exact qualification you need for the licence class you want, you can apply for an equivalency assessment.

We will assess your skills, knowledge and experience, and compare your qualification with the one you need for your licence class.

RPL

We offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) pathway to obtain this Nationally Recognised Qualification which allows you to show skills you have developed, specialist skills and knowledge in areas such as planning, drafting, quantities take off, estimating, scheduling, construction technology, OHS, site supervision, surveying, cost control and business management.

Licensing

One of the requirements for an appropriately licensed person within the building industry is holding the relevant technical qualification. Obtaining a nationally recognised qualification in CPC50210 Diploma of Building & Construction through EIB is suitable for the following licence classes;

  •  Builder Medium Rise (QLD)
  •  Site Supervisor Builder Medium Rise (QLD)

Prerequisites

To undertake the Skills Assessment for Diploma of Building & Construction you are expected to:

· Be able to use a personal computer, including basic word processing, spreadsheet, and email programs and internet search engines.
· Have a demonstrated capacity in literacy and numeracy
· Have demonstrated interpersonal communication skills

Please note we only offer this course by Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), we do not offer this course by classroom or online training.

The objective of the RPL assessment process is to ensure that an individuals prior learning achieved through formal and informal training, work experience or other life experience is appropriately recognised which enables you to forego training and move directly to having your skills assessed, thus avoiding the need for unnecessary training that brings with it additional costs, including time and effort.

The exciting concept of our skills assessment service means that all the work required to complete the assessment is done at home or in your work environment. The assessment tools are easy to access in any location you may be working or living.

Competency is granted if you are able to verify that you have achieved the elements of competency standards being assessed. For example, you may have completed some or all units of competence in another course or gained experience in a job.
